Tigers finish well in tournament
The Woodberry Forest wrestling team had a great weekend of wrestling at the Turner Ashby tournament held in Harrisonburg on both Friday and Saturday. There were many top AA level teams in the field of 20 that participated this year and going into Saturday the Tigers were in 5th place, a half point better than the defending AA state champions, Christiansburg.

t last throughout the day on Saturday, the Woodberry wrestlers did an oustanding job of competing each and every single match and there were several placewinners at the end of the day on Saturday.

It was a great tournament for not only these wrestlers but for others on the team as well. Brendan Foster got his first pin of the year on Friday night after a hard fought match. Perry Hammond, Harris Moye, Taylor Rudnick, Michael Bauer, Michael Armstrong, Sterling Street all had their hands raised during the tournament as well after winning matches.

Tigers To Wrestle in the Turner Ashby Holiday Tournament
Starting Friday December 14th the Tigers will travel to Harrisonburg, VA to participate in the annual Turner Ashby Holiday Tournament. This two day individual tournament features many strong teams from both public and private schools. This year we look forward to many place winners! Please plan on attending to cheer on the Tigers! Good luck boys!

Tigers pull out two victories!
The Tigers went to Alexandria yesterday and came away with two victories! The first match was against St. Stephens and the final team score was 72-12. Then the Tigers faced Collegiate and the final team score was 51-21.
Cole Martini had a tough match against Collegiate!
Michael Armstrong pulled out an 8 - 4 victory!
Jared Engh was working toward the pin!

The Added Edge
Several of the varsity wrestlers attended the University of Virginia's Elite Wrestling Training at the UVA Campus. Coach Alex Clemson led the session.
